CVision linkCVision Technologies

Developing software to compress images and create compressed files has been CVISION Technologies' mission since its inception in 1997. Specifically, PDF compression has been the main focus, because PDF is the most universally viewable file format. CVISION serves companies that want to make their PDF files more manageable while saving time and money on storage space and Internet transmission rates.

Compression Software
PdfCompressor DeskTop Edition

For lower-volume users, our CVista PdfCompressor DeskTop Edition is a perfect choice. Starting at just $470, it provides the same powerful compression software used in our Professional Edition yet is tailored for users who don't mind compressing each of their files individually, whose files do not exceed 100 pages each, and who intend to use PdfCompressor as a single-user desktop application.

Document Compression Products

Use CVista to create and compress PDF images. PDF and TIFF compression produces files that are up to 10x smaller than PDFs created with Adobe Acrobat™, yet are still viewable in Adobe Reader™. CVista also lets you create smart, searchable CIF documents with 20x greater compression than TIFF and PDF!
A variety of input file formats are supported -- convert JPEG, TIFF, BMP, and PS files to PDF.

CVista PdfCompressor - The batch PDF compressor will convert TIFF and CCITT4-encoded PDF images to super-compressed PDF files that are 80% to 90% smaller, yet still fully compatible with Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0™. Pdf Compressor will also decompress back to TIFF, CCITT4-encoded PDF, or searchable PDF.

CVista CifCompressor - The batch CIF compressor will compress TIFF and PDF images to 1/5 to 1/20 their size, using our proprietary CIF format. Cif Compressor will also decompress back to TIFF, PDF, or searchable PDF.

Image Viewers

View CIF and TIFF images with our web-enabled CVista viewers.
Auto-redaction and ultra-fast search now supported!

CVISION offers a versatile set of CVista Viewers to accompany its CVista CifCompressor product line. Now you can view CIF imaged documents from a server in your office or halfway around the world with the speed that ultra-compressed CIF documents provide. Viewing of TIFF, JPEG, and BMP documents is also supported.

Of course, not only are CIF images up to 20x smaller than TIFF G4 images, but smart CIF documents are also OCR-embedded and support full-text search, with highlighted hits. The CIF viewers support document streaming, so as soon as the first page of a multi-page TIFF or CIF document has streamed to your browser, it's immediately displayed and, in the case of CIF images, searchable as well.

The CVista XL Viewer is provided as both a Web browser plug-in (IE / Netscape) and as a standalone application (Windows). Features of the CVista XL Viewer are as follows:

  • View TIFF and CIF files (both B/W and color)
  • View JPEG and BMP files (standalone mode only)
  • Zoom
  • Pan
  • Rotate
  • Search
  • Fit to Width/Height
  • Magnifier
  • Full Screen Mode
  • Invert Image
  • Copy page text or image bitmap to clipboard
  • Annotation/Redaction tools
  • Automated Batch Redaction
  • Bates Stamping
  • Selection tool for copying a region to the clipboard as a bitmap or as text
Remote Batch Printing Tools

CVISION has revolutionized the way scanned documents can be printed on the Web. With the advent of CBatch, CVista's module for remotely printing scanned documents, the task of managing online image databases and Web repositories just got a whole lot simpler. With CBatch, a client thousands of miles away from the actual image server can get almost instantaneous response to a print job request, initiated with a simple mouse point and click. CBatch is the world's fastest way to print scanned documents.

CBatch will stream TIFF, CIF, and PDF documents to the client printer. These images can be Bates Stamped on-the-fly, as well as collated and duplicate copied. The CVista.cpj extension (CVista print job) allows for additional control over a batch print job, such as the addition of slip sheets containing document data exported from coded database fields and the ability to print a page range on a multipage document.

Features of the CBatch remote print module include: print while streaming, collating, dynamic Bates Stamping, and file deselect.

Scanning Utilities

Scan, compress, and quality-control your documents with the CVista ScanStation batch capture module. Enables direct entry of captured documents into a document management system.

The CVista ScanStation capture module is a batch capture module which enables you to scan, quality control, compress to CIF (CVISION image format), TIFF, and PDF, and enables direct entry of captured documents into an image management system. The capture module is fully TWAIN compliant.

CVista ScanStation supports the following scanning functions:

  • Multipage scanning directly into compressed CIF format.
  • Inspection and quality control of scanned images before database attachment.
  • Deleting, inserting, and rescanning pages during capture process.
  • Contrast, dpi, ADF (automatic document feeder), thresholding, and other advanced scanner settings, accessed through the ScanStation GUI.
Application Development Tools

Integrate CVISION's compression technology into your custom applications with the CVista SDK.

The scanned digital document is quickly becoming an integral part of the corporate office. As such, the software systems that companies rely on to maintain their critical databases must be capable of handling scanned documents with the same ease of use and simplicity as an electronic file (such as a Microsoft Word file).

With CVISION's CVista API toolkit, the task of seamlessly integrating scanned digital document capability into your existing software just got simpler.

The CVista API supports both Microsoft Visual C++ and Microsoft Visual Basic. A separate API is provided for each of our major compression products:
